DeKalb County Commission, District 2Local race · 2 candidates
In their own words
Ben Pepper
- Why running
I am running because the people of District 2 deserve a county government that answers the phone, gets things done, and respects the money they earn.
- Property taxes
I will push the county to examine every department for savings and to prioritize returning money to taxpayers before creating new spending.
- Public safety
Our officers need effective tools, including license plate readers and public cameras, paired with clear rules, audits, and real consequences for misuse.
Michelle Long Spears
- Tree protection ordinance (social media)
DeKalb's Tree Protection Ordinance hasn't been updated in 20+ years. Join Commissioners Michelle Long Spears & Ted Terry Thu., Sept. 17, 6:30–8pm at Central DeKalb Senior Center to weigh in.
